Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I'm so excited its finally Christmas time! I LOVE Christmas - all the lights, decorating the tree, delicious candles, presents, family, remembering our Savior! <3

But before I get into all that let's talk about THANKSGIVING! We spent Thanksgiving with my family this year. We had a late dinner - as always at my house! (; - played some games, ate way too much jalapeno cheese ball, drank some sparkling cider, got some Christmas shopping done on Black Friday and had fun seeing my family!

This will be our second Christmas together but our first as a married couple. Its been so much fun decorating the house together. We slowly started stocking up on lights so we were able to put Christmas lights on the house and around the yard. We also made a bunch of stuff for Rachel's craft fair the first weekend in December! Nathan sold his 3 porch swings and I sold some Santa Keys and hair clips and Christmas coasters...wish we would have sold some wreaths but it was still fun.

Growing up with a German Grandma we always celebrated St. Nicholas Day on December 5th so this year I dragged Nathan in on the tradition. For those of you who don't know about St. Nicholas Day the tradition is to leave your shoe outside your bedroom door and St. Nick leaves goodies for you! One year I tried leaving out a boot to get more goodies but it didn't exactly work out so this year we chose some stylish shoes aka our church shoes! haha

My mother-in-law gave us one of her old Christmas trees and it fits perfectly in our little home! We found the perfect ornaments and threw on a bunch of candy canes. We found what we thought was the perfect star but then realized it didn't light up so we have since gotten a silver star that does have lights in it. We had a dilemma of where to hang our stockings since we don't have a fireplace...or even a nice bookshelf to hang them from. So we decided on some wall decals and Command hooks but we ended up with something I absolutely LOVE! A month or two ago, we went yard sale-ing and found a cabinet door with glass in it - I thought it would be perfect to turn into a window frame picture frame (like the millions I've seen on Pinterest). As an after thought Nathan suggested we use my left over craft paint to paint it red, we then got some battery operated Christmas lights and voila! the most PERFECT stocking hanger!

I was also excited to fill one of my hurricane jars with ornaments and found some scented, glittery pinecones to throw in too! The only thing that we were missing is a Nativity scene! And as much as I love all my other decorations I couldn't get over the missing Nativity. Luckily for us, another craft fair was going on around the same time and I got a small white figurine of Joseph, Mary and our Savior. <3

In other news we are moving to Rexburg, Idaho 8 days after Christmas! It will be freezing and take me a while to get used to the cold cold cold weather but we are so excited! BYUI here we come! We are already registered for classes, paid our deposit for our adorable townhouse and have a giant stack of R&R boxes I have been collecting in our shed just waiting to be filled with all of our stuff!

I am so thankful for all the blessings I have received this year! I received my endowments in the Temple and married the most amazing man (also in the Temple). I'm thankful Nathan and I have both been able to work and have been accepted to BYUI. I'm thankful I have had the opportunity to teach the Sunbeams with Janelle (a cousin and good friend). And I'm so thankful for my newest friend Emily and her husband Ryan. They are one of our few couple friends. Emily is such a sweet girl, she is a loving wife and mother and a faithful member of the church and I'm so thankful I have found a friend in her. I'm thankful for the wonderful family I married into and for my own family. I'm thankful for the spiritual growth I've seen in my parents this year. And of course I am thankful for my Heavenly Father and my savior Jesus Christ. I'm thankful for the atonement and having the Church in my life.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Prank War Videos

Prank WAR

It is WAR at our house thanks to Nathan's cousin looking up a million prank videos with him! Thanks a lot, Bridger! (;

Anyway, it all started with Nathan taping the spray nozzle then asking me to put hot water in his cup that was too full of ice. Good one, Nathan, good one! But a couple nights later I got my revenge! Mwahaha I had my very first antiquing experience! I waited for him to come home from playing basketball Wednesday night and when he got home I chased him down with a big bowl FULL of flour! He was covered! It was awesome...

But it didn't end there. Yesterday, when I came home from work he asked me to get him a drink...from the sink...I made sure to check the sprayer this time but that wasn't his plan this time! When I opened the cupboard to grab a cup a TON of plastic Christmas bulbs came flying down on me and after the shock I turned slowly to give him a "Really?" look but instead ended up with a FACE FULL OF FLOUR! Up my nose, in my eyes, in my mouth sticking to my teeth! Yeah, he thinks he is pretty funny for that one.

It is still not over I'm just plotting my revenge and trying to not get pranked again in the process. I just know this is going to end with me actually getting angry about something but until then the pranks (and videos to prove it) will keep on coming!

I will post the videos as soon as I can get them from Nathan's computer.

RULES for the N&M East Prank WAR:
1. You cannot get mad.
2. You cannot ruin/cause damage to anything expensive/valuable
3. It cannot be MEAN only funny (this is where I bet the lines will get blurred)
4. You have to catch it on video for entertainment purposes

Also, in case you were wondering, there have been failed attempts on both our parts:
Fail #1 - Nathan taped just the very back edge of the sprayer in hopes of getting me again but I checked it before turning on the faucet.
Fail #2 - Nathan tried dumping a huge container of ice water on me while I was in the shower but lucky for me I saw his shadow - nice try buddy!
Fail #3 - This one's on me. I baked cookies and made a special section of dough with a few extra ingredients including jalapeno juice, pepperocini juice, onion powder and ranch dressing powder -- he could smell something funky and I revealed my camera too soon...so no tasty treat for Nathan!

Videos to come shortly!

NEW Blog!

Well, here I am, I finally got a blogspot! I made a tumblr account when we got back from our honeymoon but it's not working for me so hopefully I like this better! (To look at those posts click here!)

This blog is a sort of digital scrapbook so I can remember the beginning of my life as Mrs. Nathan East and have something to show our kids someday! It's also a way to keep family and friends up to date with what is going on with us so feel free to come back often! (:

It is only 11 days til our four month anniversary! We have had a great summer together fixing up our house, celebrating the fourth of July and my birthday. Nathan has been busy working on the dairy and I just recently got a job working at R&R Pizza in Benson. We are grateful for the work because we need to save, save, save our money to move to...IDAHO! That's right! We have both officially been accepted to BYU-I and can't wait to go to Rexburg! Nathan has been there for school before but it will be my first time to Rexburg and my first time having to drive in snow...scary thought! It will also be my first time snowboarding and whether I like it or not I have to get pretty good - Heaven knows Nathan will be out there as much as he possibly can! (:

We are also excited to be a part of Rachel's craft fair this winter! We will be making some cute crafty decorations to sell a long with some of Nathan's awesome porch swings. We have only finished one project so far but it has made me so excited for Christmas!

Nathan is excited to be coaching Chase's soccer team this year -- The Mighty Minions! He is coaching with his oldest sister Rachel and loves it. I have gone to some of their practices and their team is so adorable! Its gonna be a fun season for them!

That's all for now!
